Sunshine, freedom and a little flower

Sannie Teresa Burén

Welcome to my little corner of the internet – a safe haven for your inner child and precious heart.

Here you can freely enjoy my photos and read inspiring stories – and yes, you can buy them too,

because how else should I afford to travel, eat cake and occasionally buy new shoes?

Stories in pictures Stories in words. Spoken words. Written words. My stories. Your stories. Stories that we create together – those are my passion!I am a Danish storyteller and photographer, a multi-passionate artist who likes to express in many different ways, often inspired by flowers, colors, light, and what it means to be a human being.

  • I value freedom, adventure, transformation and being vulnerable.
  • I am a big fan of Pippi Longstocking, Mumin, and Harry Potter.
  • I am kinda weird – yet a quite ordinary woman just trying to get the most out of this life.

If you are just a little bit like me, you are probably longing for more kindness and understanding in the world.

The media lives off shocking headlines and constantly bombards us with stories of death, catastrophes and greed. If we are not careful it can ruin our good mood and make us think that everything in the world is going to hell … If we are not to be completely stressed out and depressed, we need to take good care of ourselves.

Through uplifting stories and pictures, I help good people protect their heart from the dark, so it can remain warm and light in an otherwise cynical world. I wish for you to be inspired to create a better life for yourself and help make the world a better place.

Because we want to be positive, right?

Not only does it feel better – it is also better for everyone else. Happy people are more creative and can find better solutions to the problems of the world, and when we smile, mirror neurons are released and makes others do the same. We can spread joy and empathy, like rings in the water.

Not in a way in which we suppress other types of feelings. Because only when we dare to be vulnerable and honest, and stand by all that we are, we can be really authentic. I practice that every day.

if we want to change the world, we must start with the stories we tell about it – and in a cynical world the sweet, the vulnerable and innocent becomes rebellious.

Art can create wonder, ask questions, provoke us out of habitual thinking, and give us a new understanding of the world and our place in it. Art can awanken feelings and create understanding. Or just give us a well-deserved break from our daily life.

Thank you so much for stopping by my website, I hope it’s the beginning of a long and warm friendship.

All the best,

Sannie Teresa Burén, born in Copenhagen 1964. I worked originally as an actor but later took education in psychotherapy and have worked with therapy, coaching and teaching personal development courses for a number of years. I am the author of two books and worked for five years as a freelance journalist. In recent years, I have become a photographer and today I offer portrait sessions and sell my flower photos as prints and postcards.

Together with my husband, Jacob Burén, I run B&B Æblegaarden (“The Apple farm”) in the rural island of Langeland, in the south of Denmark, where I live. Our house is up for sale, though – and new adventures await!
